Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Mash in mashed potatoes and refrigerate.
Dice the onion and fry until soft in vegetable oil. Add to potatoes. Mix well, add salt and pepper as needed.
Form cutlets, roll in breadcrumbs and fry in vegetable oil for several minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serve the patties warm.
Lean potato patties are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Cooking such cutlets is quite simple, they can be served as a separate dish with vegetable salads or pickles. If you do not fast, then serve meatballs or fish cutlets. Even a novice hostess can cope with this dish.
