Whisk together brown sugar, olive oil, soy sauce, lemon pepper, thyme, basil, parsley and garlic powder in a bowl and pour in a resealable plastic bag.
Add the salmon fillet to the marinade, squeeze out the excess air and close the bag tightly. Marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour, periodically turning.
Preheat an open grill or grill pan at medium temperature, lightly grease the grate. Remove salmon from marinade and shake. Cook for approximately 5 minutes on each side.
