Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, finely chopped onions, mayonnaise, crab meat, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Spread the mixture in a baking pan.
Bake for 20 minutes. With a bread, make a bowl by removing the pulp. Place the crab appetizer in a bowl and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
Cut slices of bread to soak in the filling and bake with a bread bowl. Serve hot.
